The Lifeboat Fund is an official charity of the Civil Service and also receives donations from Royal Mail and BT staff. The Fund supports the work of the RNLI by raising money to buy new lifeboats, equipment and training for crew. There are 12 Lifeboat Fund lifeboats in the RNLI fleet.

Story

A group of us in Perth, Dundee, and Fife are taking on a year of fundraising between September 2019 and September 2020.

Our primary event for this will be a 403km bike ride around the centre of Scotland, starting and finishing at Broughty Ferry Lifeboat Station. The event will take place over the second bank holiday weekend in May 2020 and we will publish more details nearer the time.

In addition to this we will be entering other events and again these will be announced near the occasion.

The team taking part is made up of, Paul Hook, Ian Pettican, Douglas Cameron, Blair Cormack, Alan Mackay, Catherine Wykes, David Wykes, Livia Simonka, Peter Thorpe, Andrew Pettican.

The Lifeboat Fund is a charity that supports the RNLI helping to keep people safe at sea and on our beaches and also has swim safe projects around the world.
