<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for Tibet.</p> <p>Ever since I first visited a Tibetan refugee camp in Nepal, I have been drawn to the plight of the Tibetan people. Their story is so shocking and so unknown by most people.&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 11pt;">Since March 2011,&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 11pt;"><a href="http://www.freetibet.org/newsmedia/selfimmolations"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none;">over 20 Tibetans have set themselves on fire</span></a></span><span style="font-size: 11pt;">&nbsp;in protest at the repressive Chinese occupation. It is the only way they know to try and make their protests heard outside the country.&nbsp;</span></p> <p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 14.0pt; mso-pagination: none; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; color: #262228; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Tibet was invaded by China in 1949. Since that time, the Chinese occupation has</span><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; color: #262228;"> resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Tibetans, the destruction of over 6,000 monasteries and temples, and the imprisonment and torture of thousands of Tibetans. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 14.0pt; mso-pagination: none; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;">Tibet Watch is a vital organisation which helps keep people aware of what is going on there.
