I am running the London Marathon 2011 in aid of my sister who had epilepsy.
Her story is below to show why I want to run the marathon.
(i had to make that call)
On 7 September 2008 Ross Sheridan, received a call that no parent could imagine or should receive, Karen Louise (pictured left) his 26 year old daughter had been found dead in her apartment.
Karen was 10 when she suffered her first epileptic seizure and it was shortly after that that she was diagnosed with
Grand Mal epilepsy.
Like most familys who find themselves in this position they searched for things that they should have done but never got round to doing. At the back page of one of Karen’s diaries was a Wish List. One of the wishes was for a Seizure Alert Dog.
Support Dogs is a unique UK charity which trains dogs to act as efficient and safe assistants for people with epilepsy and physical disabilities enabling their owners to lead fuller and more independant lives.
