Cath Ward for the Stroke Association

Martin Ward is raising money for Stroke Association
In memory of Catherine Mary Ward

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Cath loved her cycling, and as we all know, she tragically died while competing in a time trial on Wednesday, 4 August 2010.

Rather than accept floral tributes, her family have decided to encourage donations to her two favourite charities.

"The "Stroke Association" for whom this page is applicable, and Cancer Research which is on a seperate "Just Giving" page - http://www.justgiving.com/CathWard-CancerResearch

Cath's urge to help these two charities stemmed from the death of her parents who she loved very much. Her father Pat died suddenly as a result of a stroke. Her mother June died from cancer some years later.

Cath raised money for these two charities in a variety of ways, including, in 2008, taking part in a London to Paris Bike Ride. She raised £1700 for The Stroke Association by so doing.

We know Cath would be happy to know that her friends donated to one or both of these two charities in her memory.
