Most of you know that I work part-time for this Children's Charity, who are based in Barnet.
They do so much to help families who have children with life-limited and life-threatened conditions. The children are just amazing - they don't complain or moan about their illness, they just 'get on with it', whilst their parents and siblings manage their best to accept it. Noah's Ark Children's Hospice desperately want to build their own hospice, but that takes a lot of money. Having raised enough funds to buy the land earlier this year, they now need to raise £10million to build the hospice. NACH currently have a very small team of 'Specialist Carers' (that's me and 4 others!) who give respite to the families in their own homes. However, sometimes the parents need more respite, but there are simply not enough children's hospices in the UK to facilitate over 4,000 families in the UK.
So, I have decided to help raise funds for this very special charity. I've been very lucky with my health, but sadly, I have seen many close family and friends lose their hair, following severe cancer treatment. On Saturday 3 Decmber 2011, I shall be having my head shaved, by Supercuts, in The Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead at 1 o'clock. If you fancy coming along to support me, please do.
