The two Cathys (Lovett and Tominey), on recently reaching a milestone birthday, decided they would like to mark it in some special way.  A spa weekend was suggested but they felt that would be rather boring so perhaps some kind of physical challenge would be more exciting.  But what?  A swim?  A run?  A cycle ride?  Or..... what about climbing a mountain?  Or three??  So, one mountain led to another and we are now in training for the 3 Peaks Challenge, which necessitates climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales - in 24 hours!  We are being joined in the climb by Cathy T's husband Andy and his sister Annette.  My hubby Andy (yes, rather confusing all these Cathys and Andys!) is fulfilling the wonderful support role of driving us in between each mountain, as well as having food and changes of clothing ready for us after each descent.

We will be starting the Challenge at 5pm on Tuesday 20th July, beginning with Ben Nevis, then on to Scafell Pike and hopefully completing Snowdon by 5pm the following day.  To add a bit of excitement to the Challenge, we will celebrate reaching the top of each mountain by knocking back a Jaegerbomb, which will hopefully give us an extra shot of energy for the descent!

The money we raise will be donated to Grove House, a local hospice whose wonderful work you can read about on this page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We really appreciate anything you are able to give, however small, as it all adds up and will be going to a very worthy cause.

Thank you in anticipation of your generosity.

Love Cathy xx
