At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

I hate running.  So why on earth would we put ourselves through running a Half Marathon with just EIGHT weeks to train?!  A few weeks ago I met an inspirational guy called Nigel Crutchley who persuaded me (and Al - although he didn't know it yet!) to join his challenge for CLIC Sargent...and the rest is history.

After a courageous fight against a tumour in the brain, Nigel's son Ben sadly passed away in February last year, just two weeks away from his 10th birthday.  During his treatment, CLIC Sargent not only provided clinical support to Ben but practical and emotional support to his family (& friends) to help them cope with the cancer and get the most out of their remaining time with him.

Since then, Nigel and his family have been fundraising tirelessly to help raise £130,000 so for CLIC Sargent in Benny's name to help other families receive the same kind of support.

Their aim is to raise £1,000,000 in memory of Ben, so all our fundraising will be helping towards this target.  Any donations - large or small - would be massively appreciated - it's the only thing that's going to keep us going on the day, trust me!
