Hi Guys!

I am going to hike the full length of the Offa's Dyke Path (Llwybr Clawdd Offa). My mission is to walk and run the route, the variety of gradients will dictate the pace. The Path starts at Prestatyn on the north coast and finishes at the Severn Estuary at Sedbury. My aim is to complete the Path in four or five days! The full length is 177 miles and follows the Welsh border alongside the 8th Century Offa's Dyke, through changing landscapes crossing the Clwydian Range, the Eglwyseg moors north of Llangollen, the Shropshire Hills (including the many ups and downs of the 'Switchback') and the Black Mountains.

I am raising money for the Charity WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals). WSPA covers a wide range of animal protection all over the world; from cruelty and neglect to dogs in the community and in the wild; to factory farmed animals; to animals in the wild being cruelly exploited; to marine animals and the thousands of whales inhumanely killed every year in bloody hunts and so much more. This amazing Charity strives to help people all over the world understand the critical importance of good animal welfare, encouraging nations to commit to animal-friendly practices and better treatment of animals.

My passion and purpose of this challenge is to save the bears being held captive in the bile industry across East and South East Asia, suffering desperately cruel conditions right now!!! They are confined in small dark cages so their bile can be extracted from their gall bladders and sold for use in some Traditional Asian Medicine. The inhumane methods used to extract bile causes severe pain and trauma to the bears, they are forced to live in these tiny cages for most of their lives. Their suffering is intense! Bear farming is cruel, unnecessary and must end! Increasing numbers of Traditional Asian Medicine practitioners agree, and are turning to herbal and synthetic alternatives, this is very positive!
