It's now nearly two years since I met a guy (we'll call him Robert, 'cos that's his name!), who initially inspired by Jane Tomlinson, not only swam the channel himself, but also persuaded his girlfriend to do the same the following year. He then embarked on an even bigger challenge, convincing me I should gather together a team to attempt a crossing of our own! Well his magic worked, and so inspired by his efforts and determined to continue the fundraising efforts of everyone who has donated or been involved in Jane's Appeal be it through running, walking or swimming, 6 of us have been training for our own attempt in August. We've been swimming in the North Sea at Bridlington and Scarborough, in lakes at Pugneys, Ellerton and even Malham Tarn, and rivers Wharfe, and Ribble, each time armed only with a cossie, hat and goggles. (Wetsuits are considered cheating!).
Please help Fiona, Mick, Stuart, Sandra, Sarah, and Suzanne to raise valuable funds for the deserving charities which Jane's Appeal supports by donating on this site. Not everyone gets the opportunity to take on such a challenge, but in doing so, we're hopeful of bringing benefit to some of those with more important needs.
