<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>I am hoping to go on a teaching project to India in August 2012 but i only have until the end of May to raise my funds of &pound;1000. We will be working with people who are known as the 'untouchables' or 'dalits'&nbsp; in the rural areas in and around Mugaiyur in Tamil Nadu which is one of the poorest states in India. We will be working towards improving the Dalit livelihood oppurtunities by improving and increasing skill sets that are appropriate and relevant in the wider social background.</p> <p>I will be responsible for a number of duties including;</p> <p>- Identifying child sex workers and delivering an outreach programme that consists of counselling, rehabilitation into family life and society, and breaking cycles of dependency.</p> <p>- Promoting and campaigning for the protection of child rights.</p> <p>- Providing health services with the local health teams.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>AND MANY MORE AMAZING THINGS!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>I am passionate about working with disadvantaged people since december 2011 when the SAFE foundation took me away on a volunteer trip to Sierra Leone, Africa. It completely changed the way i looked at things and made me realise how much i have to live for. Before going to Africa i was a bit lost in myself and wasn't moving forward at all, but since returning to the UK i have lots ofthings going on and it wouldn't have happened without this charity, so i have started to regulaly volunteer for them and it's amazing i have met loads of new people, experienced lots of new things and i have seen things that i never thought i would see. Without this charity i would NOT be where i am now so this is my new home!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>I would really appreciate it if you helped me out, i know i only have about two months to raise my funds but anything is possible when you set your mind to it!</p> <p>So please dig deep and donate now.</p> <p>Thanks so much guys.</p>
