Hello and welcome to my chairty fundraising site for Women's Aid

I'm Royal Marines Commando based in Plymouth and I'm planning to embark on a "ultra marathon" from Stonehouse barracks to Lands end in all completing over 100 miles on Saturday 6th July 2013. I will be aiming to complete this as fast as possible "roughing it" if needs be along the way.

 

 

•               1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence at some point in their lifetime

•               Over 2 women per week are killed by current or former partners

•               One incidence of domestic violence is reported to the police every minute

•               750,000 children witness domestic violence every year - in 90% of domestic violence cases children are in the same or next room

Domestic violence is the largest cause of morbidity worldwide in women aged 19-44, greater than war, cancer or motor vehicle accidents

 

Women's Aid is the national domestic violence charity that helps up to 250,000 women and children every year. 

They work to end violence against women and children, and support over 500 domestic and sexual violence services across the country.
