UNICEF works to build a better world for every child, every day. A world where every child has the chance to fulfil their potential and grow up healthy and safe. We work in 190 countries and territories around the world, reaching more children than any other humanitarian organisation.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This October I will embark on a 9 day trek in Ethiopia through the Simien Mountains.  The trek is at high altitude walking 8 hours or so a day (probably longer in my case...) with the ultimate goal of reaching the summit of Mount Bwahit at 4,450m.

I am by no means the fittest person around so it will be a challenge.  More importantly the aim is to raise money in support of the UNICEF child justice programme.  This aims to protect the rights of some of the most vulnerable children in the world who come into contact with the law, whether as victims, witnesses or offenders.  Those of you who know me will understand that through my own experiences with my own children protecting those who are vulnerable is an issue close to my heart.

All money raised will go directly to UNICEF and I am funding the cost of the trip so I do appreciate any donations.
