So back on a cold Sunday afternoon in March spent wandering around London, Alice and I decided taking part in an organised run would be a fantastic idea. Fairly new to exercise, having just joined the gym after Christmas I agreed we'd find one that we were mutually excited about. Assuming it was just going to be a friendly 5km, or even a 10km at a real push I was looking forward to it. A couple of weeks later, there I was enrolled to run my first half marathon.

Now you wouldn't know it from looking at my lofty form, but until recently I'd never run more than 10km in one go. This is going to be a challenge, and you should probably sponsor me just because of the puddle of water I'll be sat in by the end of the run whilst the colour of a ripe tomato.

But in all seriousness, cancer is something too close to all of us. So please give generously!
