I've recently finished this 62 and a bit mile walk to raise money for Oxfam and I'm doing it because I've seen the great work that the charity does in looking to eradicate poverty throughout the world. I could labour you with stats about the current Syria Crisis Appeal or other, longer term projects that Oxfam is involved with and I'd be more than happy to let you know about these, if you'd like, but, the important point is, here, that a little money from us goes a very long way for people in absolutely desperate situations. It's the difference between dirty water and disease and having clean water to drink or cook with and it provides for immediate relief for people in the aftermath of natural disasters, such as the Haitian earthquake back in 2010.
