Andy Jordan and I decided to run for SSAFA because it helps those who used to serve as well as those still serving, but most importantly it helps all our families.  Those left behind to wait and worry carry the brunt and all too often have to pick up the pieces for years to come following bereavement or life changing injuries. 

 

Both recently returned from operations in the Middle East and Afghanistan, we felt the need to support those who have gone before us and all our families, in many respects deploying is the easy bit. 

 

SSAFA helped over 50,000 people last year out of a pool of around 10 million eligible.  This worthy charity with such a wide remit needs all our help.
