We would like to take this opportunity to thank our many friends, work colleagues and everyone in Foxton (especially those we do not know) for their overwhelming generosity towards us.  As you already know we both participated in this year’s Great North Run for Charlie’s Charity ASBAH (the Association of Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus).  We both achieved a very respectable 2 hours 18 mins.

Very special thanks to Phil, Kim and Mick at The White Horse Pub who held a quiz night and raffle and donated in excess of £400 to the charity. We also need to thank the winning team for contributing their winnings as well.  The collection box in the pub also raised £133:14, bringing the Grand total from The White Horse to £533:91.   We would also like to thank Frog End Pet Supplies for their collection box which raised another £92:85.  Very many thanks to you all.

I think we all know that Foxton is a very special village to be a part of.  Our Family feels truly honoured and humbled that so many people gave to support us.   The total raised so far for ASBAH is £2,094.76, although at the time of writing we are still receiving donations.

Thank you all so very much for supporting Charlie in attaining this goal and supporting us all over the years.

Charlie & Gilly Martin

I would like to thank everyone  who has been so supportive to me during the last 18 months of my recent illness. I am pleased to say that I am finally on the mend.

Whilst bedridden last year I promised myself that when I got better I would run a half marathon.  The thought of being able to do this became very therapeutic for me.  The Charity ASBAH – (The Association of Spina Bifidia and Hydrocephalus) have offered me and my Mum a place to run for them in this year’s Great North Run in on September 20th.  They have also been over the years very supportive to us as a family.  Having this goal in mind has really helped me during my recovery.

Forget the illness and the training, the really hard part is to try and raise sponsorship for our places.  If anyone feels that they would be able to sponsor us and support ASBAH we would be most grateful. Anyone passing The White Horse could drop in and guess our finishing time at only £1:00 a guess.  The winner of the correct times will win £25:00.

Any gift large or small would be most appreciated.

You can sponser us online by going to www.justgiving.com/charlie-martin or by filling in a sponorship form which I have if anyone prefers, or even just calling in at 23 West Hill Road.

Very many thanks in anticipation of your support, and thank you for visiting my justgiving web site.
