London to Bordeaux, France - May 2019 · 22 May 2020

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

In July 2019 I was struck twice with some devastating news.

My best friend from University passed away from a brain aneurysm and shortly after my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

I have decided to gather a team to join me in cycling from London to Bordeaux, France in May 2022. The plan is to average 120km a day to cover the gruelling 700km stretch down to Bordeaux, with pit stops each evening in sleepy little French villages along the way. We have given ourselves a realistic yet challenging target of completing this trip in 6 days. The charities we will be raising money for are Parkinson’s UK and Headway Essex.

The Team:

  • Adam Pollard
  • Charlie Pinkney
  • Christian Lumsden
  • Charlie Pollard
  • Joe Baxter
  • Patrick Kearney
  • Cameron Crouser
  • Max Hunt

On behalf of the team, I hope you will follow our journey and raise money for Parkinson's and Headway Charities.
