UPDATE!!: **An eccentric yet benevolent philanthropist has promised to match the final amount I raise, on the condition that I reach £500 (or more!). Therefore every pound you donate would in fact be worth two!**

To put that into perspective: 

£15 provides a(TWO!) birth certificate(s), enabling a(/two) client(s) to access healthcare and accommodation.

£25 could provide a(TWO!) client(s) with a welcome pack when they arrive at one of our hostels containing essential items such as shoes, a toothbrush and a towel.

£50 could provide literacy training for a(TWO!) client(s) at one of St Mungo's needs projects, giving them the chance to change their life. 

- In other words, donate only £25 and you may well have given someone the chance to develop literacy skills that might be the stepping stone to getting them off the streets for life.

Despite the Mayor of London's extensive campaign to tackle the issue, homelessness in London has doubled since 2008, increasing to 6500 people over the last year. Rather than simply putting coins into a cup to alleviate my shock/disbelief regarding these figures, I thought I would actually try to make a real difference by raising money for St. Mungo's, a well established, trustworthy organization that ensures your and my money will be best put to use, to most effectively help individuals who have been abandoned by conventional safety nets. Anyone who's ever been to London will be fully aware of how many people are sleeping rough on the streets here.
