Charlie Walks the Lights
On the 11th September 2011 Charlie had been part of my family for 1 year. To mark the occasion we did our first sponsored walk to raise money for Beagle Welfare. Charlie & I walked the entire length of the Blackpool Illuminations (5.28m) in 2 hours and 14 minutes. By midnight we had raised £303 plus £59 GiftAid.

On 11th September 2010 I was lucky enough to be looking down at a group of gorgeous Bayard Beagle puppies all jumping up to say hello. In the middle of the crowd, getting jumped all over, was a little puppy who just sat there, looking up at me, waiting for his turn. I picked him up and named him Charlie.
Over the past year I've had the fantastic job of getting to know Charlie's big personality, and all of his little quirks. Charlie is a fantastic dog. True to his breed he can be very stubborn at times and is definitely motivated by food. But he's also very gentle, obedient, loving, inquisitive, intelligent and playful. Training hasn't been easy, but after a lot of hard work he's grown into a fantastic dog.
With Charlie's help, I'm trying to raise money for Beagle Welfare to support Beagles who aren't as lucky as Charlie.
Beagle Welfare's website provided me with some fantastic information on the realities of owning a Beagle before I decided Beagle was the breed for me. They're a fantastic charity who provide information and support to current and future owners, with the aim of promoting responsible ownership of Beagles. They also do excellent work rehoming Beagles.
