Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We have have decided to escape the stresses of the working world and have signed up to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in June 2010. At 5,900m, Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest standing mountain and the highest free standing mountain in the world. Snow capped and shrouded with clouds, the local people call it Kilema Kyaro meaning ‘that which can’t be conquered’. The 7 day trek will take us from the base of this dormant volcano, over moorlands and glaciers to the summit.

Rather than do this for our own enjoyment, however we will be representing local charity - Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.

The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children (NICFC) was established to provide practical, emotional and social support to children and young people diagnosed with cancer, their families, and those children and young people living every day with the effects of cancer in a family member. It is passionately committed to supporting local families living with cancer and aims to make a real difference to many lives across Northern Ireland.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
