Story
Well, this is my chance to tell you all about why I am doing this horribly long-distance run. I am not a runner, I don't really like running and to run that far seems to be beyond my capabilities. But .... there is nothing like having a goal to get me shifting. And I am shifting at every opportunity - on a sunny day, a rainy day or snowy day. I have discovered that I do not like running with music, or during daylight, or around lots of other people running, I dont like getting hot feet or a sweaty head. Some days I feel like my I wearing concrete galoshes.
But train I must, and slowly I think I am getting the hang of it. I have an excellent runner's nod (respectful momentary glance at oncoming runners - a meeting of the eyes that shows we are part of some elite club), I am getting a bit competitive and I am learning to live with a left leg kink out to one side.
I was drawn into this adventure by my cunning sister who knew that if she entered for the London Marathon, there would be no way that I could let her do something so amazing and not try my best to beat her (bit competitive), if I miss a day, she may have been training hard to give her the edge - it is what gets me out running!
I would be so pleased if you could sponsor my efforts, and in return, I will promise to do my very best training during the forthcoming weeks and will give my ultimate performance on race-day.
Thank you so much for visiting my gift-aid page.
