In February 2011 I did some volunteer work for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and was really impressed and touched by the work they do and all the hundreds of families they help and support.
My Best Friend Sophie tragically passed away when she was 16 and I witnessed the stress and pain of her family and friends during her illness and after her passing. Charities like Rainbow can make such a huge difference. I feel it’s important to ensure families who have limited time with their children are able to enjoy quality time and make happy memories.
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. Rainbow Trust's Family Support Workers join the family in their own home and are there to provide practical support. We are contactable 24 hours a day for families in crisis from diagnosis, through treatment and even after bereavement.
Rainbow relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and through the generosity of our supporters we are able to help around 1,000 families a year.
