Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my ‘JustGiving’ page.
I was introduced to Lewis’s campaign by the under 10’s Tetbury Football Coach Richard Norris. The squad has identical twins, Jack and Lewis. They’re always willing to learn new skills and are football mad! Lewis joins in whenever possible with the aid of a frame but this is not always possible. He has Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy which means he struggles with stiffness in his legs. He also aches a lot and gets very tired when he walks. He has a Kaye walker and some tripod sticks but for longer days relies on his wheelchair.
There is now an operation in the UK as well as the U.S that may help Lewis be able to move better and walk independently. It is not currently funded on the NHS in the UK and so needs to raise £35,000 to pay for the operation and the intensive therapy involved afterwards.
Because of this amazing opportunity for Lewis, I am running the 12km Bluebell Race in April 2013. Having a young sport mad son myself this cause really struck a cord with me and I wanted to help. I’m not a natural runner and this will be my first race.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please give what you can. Thanks x
