On June 30th I am cycling 111 miles through the Peak District, climbing almost 3000m-the equivalent of the Three Peaks challenge. I am doing this with two special friends, both part of the dynamic Team Bygate.  Team Bygate has been set up in memory of an amazing man, Chris, who inspired us all with his enthusiasm for adventure.  He very sadly lost his life in October 2012 following an accident in the Lake District doing something he loved, with the person he loved the most.

 

I knew Chris best through rock climbing. He'd turn up on his bike for a couple of hours of climbing before setting off to the pool for his triathlon training - I was setting off for dinner and bed! He carried on to bigger and better things, completing the IronMan UK triathlon last year, climbing in the Alps and Himalaya and more. 

 

I have given myself just 9 weeks to train for this challenge - I only bought my bike at Easter!  Please give what you can to support the Great North Air Ambulance Service who did everything they could to help Chris and support his fiancée, Gar-Ling.
