Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to take up the challenge of running the Hull 10K again and am supporting Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Last year after a routine mammogram, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. It is unbelievable that since her diagnosis in July she has had an operation, chemo and radiotherapy and is on the long but final road to complete remission with hormone injections and tablets. She faced her diagnosis and treatment with a positive attitude and a smile on her face and the support she has received has been incredible.
Thanks to the research and work carried out by Breast Cancer charities more and more people diagnosed with Breast Cancer face the same future as my mum. 40 years ago, the five year survival rate was 50%, today that has risen to 80%. Thanks to advances in research, new treatments, earlier diagnosis, breast screening and general awareness people are surviving longer.
That's were you come in, I have been set a target of £40 to raise so any small amount you can give to help me raise and hopefully pass this will be gratefully received.
