Story

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Further updates from Bob...</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Wow - what a fantastic event that was! So many old &amp; new friends in lycra and the weather stayed mostly kind (the sun shines on the righteous). Whether you were cycling,&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">baking, supporting or giving, a big "THANK-YOU" from all of the Ginns and on behalf of the Rehabilitation Unit at Derby Hospital. You have made a difference.</p> </p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Update from Bob...</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 8.6pt; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;amp;quot;; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; color: #2a2a2a; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">Kings Lodge (Ward 301) at the Royal Derby Hospital have the task of rehabilitating people that have spent some time under accute medical care. In other words, they&nbsp;prepare the patients and their families for life outside hospital. I hadn't really thought about this end of the medical profession before. Probably like most people, I was more aware of the emergency end of things. Well, I know now what a challenging job they have and how professional they are at it (me, difficult?). So I hope that you will welcome&nbsp;the chance to collect some money for them. From experience, I know that it will be well-spent.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 8.6pt; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;amp;quot;; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; color: #2a2a2a; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">I'm afraid that I won't be joining you for the ride on this occasion.&nbsp;Look out for and say hello to my son Sam &amp; brother Ed though - they are both better riders and more stylish&nbsp;than me. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 8.6pt; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;amp;quot;; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; color: #2a2a2a; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">With any luck, it will be sunny and you will have the bonus of not having to clean your bikes afterwards.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 8.6pt; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;amp;quot;; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; color: #2a2a2a; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;"><br></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 8.6pt; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;amp;quot;; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; color: #2a2a2a; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">Have an excellent ride and thank-you all</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 8.6pt; margin-left: 0cm; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="mso-fareast-font-family: &amp;amp;quot;Times New Roman&amp;amp;quot;; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial; color: #2a2a2a; mso-fareast-language: EN-GB;">Robert</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">A group of about 30 of Bob's friends, family and colleagues are cycling to Ashbourne and back on April 22 to raise funds for the Kings Lodge rehabilitation unit (ward 301 - charitable funds number: 21180) at the Royal Derby Hospital in recognition and thanks for the essential care and support that they gave Bob following his cycling accident last year.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">To quote Bob this is "not perhaps the glamour end of the business but key to getting the best possible outcomes for the individuals involved."</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">When we mentioned this bike ride to Bob his first response was "can I put my name down for entertaining the wives?"&nbsp;and his second was to challenge us to come up with a name for the event - the winner getting to cycle home with a bottle of wine.&nbsp; The responses are still coming in and the official name will be declared on April 22.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">We all continue to watch and be interested in Bob's progress and are looking forward to seeing him on April 22 as much as the tea and cake on arrival!&nbsp; So please dig deep and support this worthy cause so that they can continue to prepare and ready people like Bob to return to their homes and families.</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
