This is one of the most serious problems affecting rural Cambodians and contributes to a range of health and social problems, including stunted growth; lower than acceptable weight to height ratios in adults and low life expectancy at birth. Consuming poor-quality drinking water increases the risk of contracting water-borne diseases that can shorten mental and physical stamina. This impacts learning and working capacities in children and adults.</span></strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; color: black;"></span></p>
