My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money for Brightside because as much as I hate running and I mean hate, I love what we do as a charity and believe in the cause. I went running once, it was horrendous! Baring that in mind, I need to be as fit as a fiddle and I've only got 7 weeks, so please sponsor me to make me feel like my efforts are worth it!
I will also be dressed as a Superhero. Costume suggestions on a postcard, please!
Apart from making me feel good your money will go towards our first ever mentoring awards. Why would I want my money to go to this you might ask? Well, our volunteer mentors have been working hard all year to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds (their mentees) get in to education and employment. We think both the mentees and mentors should be recognised and rewarded for all their hard work and achievements.
If we raise more than we need for that, the money will go towards providing equipment and resources for 10 young people to volunteer with us so they can get training, make videos, write and campaign.

Brightside is a national charity that connects disadvantaged young people with an online mentor, who provides advice about education and careers to help them achieve their ambitions. We provide the mentors and their mentees with training and resources to help them get the most out of the experience.
