<p>Most of you who know me are aware I have been in training for the Fleet Half Marathon for the past year now.</p>
<p>The race is 13.1 miles long- anyone who knows me knows I am not a natural born runner but I've switched the alcohol and cigarettes for a pair of trainers and a bottle of water, to do my bit for a charity that is very close to my heart.</p>
<p>I first became aware of SACHD when my little cousin Jennifer was born with a heart defect which means only two of the four chambers in her heart are capable of pumping blood. Seven operations later and with support from SACHD, Jennifer can now live a more normal, more active life.</p>
<p>Since enduring her first surgery at just 12 days old, Jennifer has had open heart surgery twice to correct the underdeveloped right chambers in her heart.</p>
<p>SACHD organise emotional and financial support for families who have children with heart defects, and fund entertainments to make the kids' visit to hospital more pleasant.</p>
<p>It's such a great organisation guys! </p>
