My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Most of you who know me are aware I have been in training for the Fleet Half Marathon for the past year now.
The race is 13.1 miles long- anyone who knows me knows I am not a natural born runner but I've switched the alcohol and cigarettes for a pair of trainers and a bottle of water, to do my bit for a charity that is very close to my heart.
I first became aware of SACHD when my little cousin Jennifer was born with a heart defect which means only two of the four chambers in her heart are capable of pumping blood. Seven operations later and with support from SACHD, Jennifer can now live a more normal, more active life.
Since enduring her first surgery at just 12 days old, Jennifer has had open heart surgery twice to correct the underdeveloped right chambers in her heart.
SACHD organise emotional and financial support for families who have children with heart defects, and fund entertainments to make the kids' visit to hospital more pleasant.
It's such a great organisation guys!

We offer support and understanding in everyday care and welfare to parents and families of children with heart disorders. We help fund research, equipment for hospitals and homes, and family support grants as well as providing weekend breaks for young adult, teenage and family groups.
