<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page- I am organising a coffee morning on <strong>10th October</strong> to support <strong><em>Mental Health Awareness Day.</em> </strong></p>
<p>Having suffered from severe post-natal depression over the past 3 years, I know from personal experience how debilitating a mental illness can be, made worse by the stigma attached to it. Mental illness can affect individuals from all walks of life and their families/friends who support them.</p>
<p><strong>MIND</strong> have been a great support to me during the past 6 months- they're currently helping me with their<strong> <em>Get back to work</em></strong> scheme and have also set me up with a <strong><em>Befriender</em></strong>, Sarah, a trained volunteer who understands depression and meets up with me on a regular basis to keep me company and talk through my depression.</p>
<p>I want the money I raise to go to <strong>MIND</strong> to help them continue their excellent work in supporting people like me. Also, despite over 10% of women in the UK suffering from post-natal depression, we don't have any support groups in our local area, so I'm hoping the money I raise will go towards setting one up.</p>
