To secure my place in this years london marathon I have pledged to raise £1800 for the Whittington Hospital, specifically Jane Lakings maternity bereavment fund. At Whittington Health we are committed to offering families caring and compassionate care when their baby passes away. Part of this service is to offer them an individual funeral for their baby at low or no cost. This can mean a huge amount to families at a time of great sadness for them. It allows them and us to  acknowledge how important their baby is and how much they will be missed. Though these babies are with them for such a short time they will be loved for a life time and a funeral can be one of only a few tangible memories that parents are able to create. To continue to be able to provide this vital service to parents we need to raise some funds to cover the external costs the we incur. Parents, their families and the staff who care for them will really appreciate any amount you can give to support funeral services for babies.
