Story
To all my family and friends,
On Sunday 25th April 2010, I will be running the London Marathon, all 26 miles of it! It feels huge - exciting and terrifying! A massive personal challenge as I only started running last summer. In March, I completed the Paris Half Marathon in 2hrs 24mins and I am all set to cross the London Marathon finish line in just over 5hrs.
I am running for Refuge, a charity which supports women and children experiencing and escaping domestic abuse and violence - a cause which is very close to my heart. 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence at some point in their life. Many of them feel like they have no-one to turn to or nowhere to go. Refuge offers them help and hope.
Every minute in the UK, the police receive a call from a woman experiencing domestic violence, while two women a week are killed by a current or ex partner. Please help me help them. I would be so grateful if you could sponsor me whatever you can and help me to reach my goal of making a difference to the women and children in crisis.
To make donations you can visit www.justgiving.co.uk/CharlotteWatsonMarathon2010. I have already raised £2,415 and would love to double this if I can by race day. If you would prefer to send me a cheque or pledge a cash donation, please let me know.
I would love and will need lots of support on the day to keep me going so will be sending more information on how to come and spot me in the crowd shortly. Needless to say, I will be wearing a bright pink running kit so keep your eyes peeled! Please put the 25th April in your diaries!
A big thank you in advance for all your support,
With much love Charlotte xx
