I am taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge the weekend of 14th/15th May 2016. It is for a very worthy cause for a little girl, Charlotte, who was born a twin 8 weeks premature and suffered with a bleed to the brain which resulted her in having quadriplelgic cerebral palsy. Thankfully her brother has no problems but she longs to play and interact with him.

Due to her parents hard work and commitment she has started talking and feeding well and is looking forward to starting pre-school in September. She regularly attends physiotherapy and has daily exercises she must do each day in order to help with her condition. It is exhausting work for her and parents but they realise it is essential for her progress.  

As you can imagine this must be a very difficult and frustrating situation but there is light to what has been an arduous start to this little girls life. There is an operation in the US which could help called selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR). This operation is available at the St Louis Hospital where a Dr Park has specialised in this field for over 25 years and has been able to help thousands of children alike.

This is where our involvement can help... her parents are trying to raise funds for the Tree of Hope to take her to meet Dr Park in order that she may be given the opportunity of having this operation so that, hopefully, she can achieve her dearest wish of being able to play and interact with her brother.
