We offer life changing opportunities to disadvantaged youth and disabled adults

Story

Firstly, many thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Over the past two months eight employees from Chaucer have been in training for the Great London River Race 2009 taking place on Saturday 5th September (http://www.greatriverrace.co.uk). The race takes place on the Thames covering 22 miles from Greenwich to Richmond in a Cutter rowing boat! We are taking part in the race in order to raise money for the AHOY Centre and hope to complete the race within 4 - 6 hours!!

We are raising funds to buy vital equipment and provide the support required to enable people with disabilities and people that are disadvantaged to enjoy and participate in sailing and boating on the Thames.

The AHOY Centre's primary objective is to support disadvantaged youth and people with disabilities from Greenwich, Lewisham and the surrounding boroughs. It offers participants the experience, opportunities and new horizons gained through water-based activities.

Please dig deep and donate whatever you can.
