Jumping for Courage · 20 May 2013

Last year alone, 1.4 million women experienced domestic abuse in England & Wales. Behind every statistic is a woman whose life has been shaped by control & fear. Women's Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse and create a safer world for women & children.

Story

I am jumping 13,000ft for Women's Aid because I feel that it's important to show that I can face my own fear of heights in order for others to see that they too can face their fears.

Far too many people suffer and/or are killed in their own home and nothing is done about it. It's the crime of the century because the victims feel that they have to lie. Much more awareness needs to be brought to it, so that children in schools can be taught how to deal with this issue.

These experiences don't just go away. Once you are abused, be it mentally or physically, it's damage that can't be undone.
