Hi, my name is Cherie. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I will be entering the Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice - Night to Remember Eastbourne 2010 on 03/07/2010, In memory of my daughter Georgia. I am walking with my best friend Sally Bennett who has supported me every step so far. So why are we doing this?

My daughter Georgia was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a very rare type of bone cancer back in December 2009. After an operation on her lower back she started chemotherapy. This meant Georgia, Martin (my husband) and I having to stay in the Royal Marsden throughout Christmas and New year. Treatment continued through to March until a routine MRI scan showed the cancer had been too strong for the drugs. We all came to terms with this devastating news and returned home so Georgia could have as much quality time as possible.

All throughout Georgia's initial problems and treatment she showed incredible courage and strength, rarely did she moan or complain. She was a truly amazing young person and we are immensely proud of her.

Georgia was lost to the world on March 24th 2010, age 14 and Chestnut Tree House gave us a place to stay with Georgia until her funeral. This most wonderful place saved us from total despair and they gave us friendship, support, love and care, and made us eat too!

We owe a massive thankyou to Chestnut Tree House and while we were their we were truly touched by the care for all the lovely children. This is a fantastic place, a beautiful building but overshadowed by the most wonderful of staff. This is unbelievably the only children's hospice in Sussex, run purely as a charity, lets make sure they continue there incredible care, and help many others.

So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you xxx

Hello

Well along with my dear friend Sally I managed the Midnight Walk.  I cannot pretend it was easy, because I actually found it quite hard and was obviously not as fit as I thought I was!! We left at midnight and arrived back at 3.10am. It was a perfect night, so warm and the atmosphere was fantastic. Although hard, I will be doing it again next Year and would recommend it, what a buzz!.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for your generous donation and can truly, hand on my heart say it is going to a worthwhile cause.

Thank you again

With Love

Cherie x
