Story
I'm part of a team of coworkers taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge on 21st-22nd July 2012 to raise money for Heart Research UK. It's the first time to do anything like this and I'm nervous and excited but looking forward to the challenge!
We had first planned to do the challenge last October but due to strong gale forces had to postpone it to this summer. It has been a grand adventure in itself preparing for the challenge which has also brought me to see more of the UK countryside and to "work out" with lots of different friends and family.
I'm dedicating my challenge to my Dad, Melchor, who passed away so many years ago from a heart attack in his sleep on 5th October 1999.
Thank you for your support and encouragement!

We are a group of coworkers at CSMG and Cartesian – sister companies in providing professional services in the communications, technology and digital media industries – planning to attempt the National 3 Peaks Challenge in early October. We are attempting this challenge in order to raise money for Heart Research UK in support of their mission to improve the prevention, diagnosis, treatment of those with heart disease and to educate the general public. Meanwhile, we are eager to take on this challenge for the good of our own hearts by keeping fit, satisfying our natural desire for adventure and spending some quality time together - no doubt commiserating over the shared exhaustion and aches involved in completing this mission!
The 3 Peaks Challenge involves summiting the 3 highest peaks in each of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) within one 24-hour period. It is physically and mentally demanding, and while our team mostly consists of novices, we make up for our lacking ability with plenty of enthusiasm and sense of humour.
We're looking to raise £4000 for Heart Research UK in support of the fantastic work that they do, and we hope you will support us and their research with a small donation and some words of encouragement! As with some of our project challenges, we only have a short period of time - 4 weeks - to execute this grand operation! We hope to have your support in making this climb a success for both our team and Heart Research UK.
