My story

Cheshire East & North Staffs Sands are pleased to support Leighton Hospital, Crewe & University Hospital of North Staffordshire to help improve care for Bereaved Parents.

Cheshire East & North Staffs Sands are a Local Group that aim to offer Support to anyone in the area affected by the death of a baby through provision of Sands resources, Support meetings held monthly in both areas, Access to a Sands Befriender, Working with our local Hospitals to improve care/facilities where required.

This year the group along with many who support our work have decided to climb Mount Snowdon on May 12th 2012. The walk is a way to bring us all together to help and support each other whilst we complete the challenge. The money raised will not only help to run the groups but will enable us to reach further into the community providing further support and awareness. Primarily this walk is being undertaken in honour of every baby we sorely miss.

Sands has a nationwide network of local support groups run by bereaved parents to support anyone affected by the loss of a baby. Our local group Cheshire East & North Staffs Sands is part of this network and 100% of your donations will be used to support their work. In April 2012 the group intends to become two separate groups, Cheshire East Sands and Staffordshire Sands, this we feel will help us provide better support over what is such a large area, although we intend to still work together on events and fundraisers. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Sands will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you. The Gift Aid is used to support Sands work at a national level.

We Thank You in advance for every penny donated and will ensure it goes to very good use!
