We deliver vital mental health services to children in schools across the UK

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In September, myself and 15 colleagues will be trekking the Great Wall of China - a new addition to the 7 Wonders of the World - for 5 challenging days , covering about 36km to raise £72,000 for Place2Be, a mental health charity for children . I'm doing this because mental health issues are becoming epidemic in society and is closer to home than people realise, with many of us either having personally experienced it or having loved ones or friends facing these issues. Raising awareness of mental health issues helps to destigmatize the isolation and fear of judgment that people going through mental health issues face. A thriving mind equals a thriving life and what better age to start building thriving minds than with children.

Place2Be provides emotional and therapeutic services in 294 primary and secondary schools, building children's resilience through talking, creative work and play and reaching a total population of 142,000 pupils. Place2Be helps children cope with a wide range of complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.

Your support will provide thousands of children access to vital mental health services such as: £50 will enable a child attend one-to-one counselling session and £1,100 funds one-to-one counselling for a child for a whole academic year.

Thank you for generously giving towards this truly worthy cause!

Yours sincerely,

Chika

Note: 100% of all donations goes directly to the charity.
