Chloe's Trekfest - The Beacons + Welsh 3 Peaks page

Trekfest - The Beacons + Welsh 3 Peaks · 7 June 2014
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
I am slowly realising the extent of the challenge ahead... and there's no turning back! In fact, never mind the actual challenge, I'm already feeling the constant ache in my legs from even these early training sessions so pity me in a few weeks time.
Trekfest - The Beacons is one of the headline events in my employer's (Smiths News) community link-up program for this year and with the Beacons right on my doorstep how could I not take part?
It involves a 27 mile trek in just 12 hours and if that wasn't daunting enough, we will cross the highest peaks in the Beacons and South Wales including Pen y Fan (886m), Corn Du (873m), Cribyn (795m) and Fan y Big (719m).
So that you receive value for your donation David and I will also be completing the 'Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge' a just few weeks later... imagine the blisters! In 10 hours (walking time) we aim to complete Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan (again!).
I'm really looking forward to this challenge and any donation you can give would be greatly appreciated by both myself and my chosen charity, Hospice of the Valleys.

Here's a little bit about my charity; who they are and what they do:
Hospice of the Valleys is THE Blaenau Gwent Hospice, caring for over 500 patients every year, with a team of specialist palliative care professionals dedicated to providing hospice care; taking care not only of people`s physical needs, but also providing for their emotional, spiritual and social needs; helping them to live as actively as possible after diagnosis to the end of their lives, however long that may be and the highest value is put on respect, choice and quality of life.
Why I chose the Hospice of the Valleys:
The charity is a real pillar of my community offering free support and care to those who need it most. It costs over £1 million a year for them to deliver this amazing service and only 1/3 of this is provided by government. I have raised money for the charity previously and I know what the money can do and how much it means.
Thank you once again for visiting, hopefully I won't get lost in the mountains and make it back in one piece!
