The total number of orphans in Africa is greater than the total number of children in Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Canada and Sweden.There are currently an estimated 53.1 million orphans in Africa. Of those children, 30% lost parents to the AIDS epidemic.

These children are often left alone, struggling for food and water. I will be carrying out a sponsored famine to not only raise awareness for orphans worldwide but to support the hard work of Kerry Watson who has set up her own orphanage in Kenya, Shimba Hills.

Before heading out there in May I would like to raise some money for the charity, for all their hard work to make the childrens lives easier and put a smile on their faces every day.
