My name is Chloe Smith and in August 2010 my dad and I are attempting to climb the worlds largest freestanding mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. We are taking part in this challenge to raise money for the children's charity, Barnardos. 

We have made this Just Giving page so that it is easy for people to keep up to date with how our fundraising is going, and also to donate money to the charity.

Barnardos is a charity that helps young people all around the UK, last year alone they helped 100,000 people turn their lives around, nearly 3500 young carers were given support and help, and nearly 800 young people were trained in practical skills to help them find employment.

Barnardos is such a worthwhile cause; it helps with all types of problems from teenage parenting to domestic violence. My dad and I feel that this cause helps to give so many people new hope every year and we have chosen to support this charity and our aim is to raise £10,000. 

With your help we can be one step closer to reaching our goal, no matter how small or large your donation is every penny helps. 

£5 could pay for a hot dinner for a homeless young person

£10 could pay for an emergency wash and personal care kit for a homeless young person

£20 could contribute towards regular travel costs for a young person to attend school, college or training for a job

Barnardo’s vision today is that the lives of all children and young people should be free from poverty, abuse and discrimination.
