Story
I am Chloe, a 16 year old girl from England.
Taking the challenge to skydive is a big jump for me. I am an introvert, who prefers to stay within my own comfort zone, and that doesn't include chucking myself out of a plane at 10,000-15,000 ft. Truth is, I am petrified of falling.
However, with your support, from donations to my chosen charity, UNICEF, and wishing me good luck and wise words, I will be able to conquer my fear and be able to do something new and amazing for children around the world.
This is not about me though. Many children around the world struggle to live in poverty. Being a child myself, I couldn't imagine living how those children have to live. Earlier this year, I participated in the 'Live Below The Line' challenge, which was to live on a food budget of £1 per day. This was very difficult to do, and I was only doing it for 5 days! Imagine how it must be for families in poverty worldwide...
What struck me most is about how close the problem is to home. Many children in the UK live in poverty, and I am one of the lucky ones who are not. I have friends that live in poverty in the UK and their standard of living is not very nice at all. I would like to do this skydive to help improve their standards of living whilst promoting others to do the same thing and rise up to the challenge to help fight world poverty!
