Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Following the ride that I took part in last year and raised in excess of £1500 I did not expect to be here again. I am too busy at work, have had man flu,the weather has been horrendous etc, Mike has had kidney stones and been in and out of hospital and only had a bike for a month. In addition I can honestly say that last years ride was one of the hardest challenges I have ever taken part in. The weather was horrendous, it rained and snowed for 3 days, some riders ended up in hospital with hyperthermia, one broke an arm, various riders were knocked off bikes and injured, there was a crash with a loaded hearse and somehow after riding 260 miles I put 4 pounds on and didnt sleep for a week!

However, on the bright side we had a ride on a train with a man that had just been released from prison, met some great people that helped us get through the daily grind and were waved and cheered all the way from the moors outside Sheffield into Huddersfield by lines of people and ended up having one of the best experiences I have ever had, all in the knowledge that sometimes you just have to give a little back!

The Team at Huddersfield Town are aiming to raise a million pounds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and their own academy. Last year the280+ riders contributed in excess of £300,000 and so far they have raised in excess of £700,000 - hopefully this year their target will be reached.

Mike and I are aiming to raise £2000 and not only have left our training to the last minute but also the fund raising. We have stuck £1000 in to get the ball rolling so have 3 weeks to raise the rest. Any donation no matter how small would be gratefully received.
