Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The picture says it all really, my sleek aerodynamic shape makes it unlikely that I will ever run a marathon but the RBL Poppy Appeal is close to my heart for all the support it gives to those who have fought to keep us safe over the years so taking this 1000 mile challenge is something that I can do.
In these economically difficult times the requests for help from the RBL continue. There should be more support from the government for those who need the help but until there is its down to each of us to examine his or her own conscience to see what we can do.
There are three of us attempting this challenge, Myself, a good friend called John Newson and my wife who will attempt to sit still on the back of my bike for the duration. That effort in itself deserves sponsoring. The aim is to complete the 103 1mile curcuit starting on the saturday and finishing on the sunday with an attempt to complete the distance withing 24 hours.
We will be taking the southern anti-clockwise route from Leeds starting at 0500 on the saturday morning. Money is tight for everyone these days but please give what you can.
Thank you
Chris and Maria
