We're walking the peaks to raise cash for Heart Research UK.
By day we are humble keyboard warriors where the mountains we climb are counted in words and pages. By night we are usually in the pub, but that's not really important. For one day in May we are going to break free of our desk-bound shackles and rush free into the fresh air and open countryside of Yorkshire to climb (well, walk up at a steady pace) at least one of the three peaks.
Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough three names that sound like they should be in a Lord of the Rings novel or characters in Game of Thrones. They are, though, all that stands between us and the pub. One of these, perhaps two, maybe three (but that's not likely given the pub and back is more than we can usually manage) will be conquered by sheer effort and persistence alone. Well, Amy will use the power of moaning to keep us all motivated. Adrian will be pressing flowers along the way and keeping us entertained with some poetry too.
Look, let's be honest, they promised us a day off work if we walked up some hills and at the time that sounded great.
However! The real reason we're walking up some hills in North Yorkshire is no laughing matter. Heart research UK is doing incredible work to understand the causes and complications of heart disease and every penny we raise will go towards funding that research. We'd really appreciate it if you could help us raise as much cash for such an amazing cause.
If you can thrown some money our way that would be amazing and we promise to raise a glass to each and every one of you who sponsors us as we recuperate in the pub afterwards.
