Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be taking part in the London Marathon 2012 on behalf of Bone Cancer Research Trust, a charity very close to my heart. As you may be aware my daughter, Francesca, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, in January 2007 and received an intensive treatment of chemotherapy and major surgery. Francesca's treatment ended in December of 2007 and since then, much to our relief and huge gratitude, has remained clear of any return. Francesca still faces more surgery in the not too distant future but we are hopeful for her to have a full and healthy life. However, we also had the chilling reminder of how this cancer remains a killer disease when Francesca’s close friend of whom she went through treatment with in 2007 lost his fight in April 2011 at the young age of 15.
Bone Cancer Research Trust continually strive to find new treatments to improve the outcomes for people diagnosed with Bone Cancer. This worthwhile charity requires funding to carry out this fantastic work and as such I am proud to take part in The London Marathon 2012 on their behalf.
I would be extremely grateful for any sponsorship you would be willing to contribute, knowing that it will be going to a charity that means so much to me, Francesca and all our family.
With sincere thanks
Chris
