I’m cycling the first leg of the London 2 Monaco 2017 bike
ride to support the work of BLUE Marine Foundation.  We’re doing London to Folkstone on Sunday 17 September (from where the brave souls who are doing all ten days will continue on, and I’ll return to London for a rest).

Sunday will be a 140km day...

The Oceans are central to the health of the environment of Earth.  They are the largest carbon sink in the world.  They support the majority of the world’s plant and animal species.  But we need to do more to protect them.  BOAT International is supporting the BLUE Marine Foundation this year by promoting the London 2 Monaco bike ride and also through participation – we have three team members doing the first day of the event.

This year the funds raised by BLUE will go towards four tangible projects:

• Supporting the Ascension Island marine reserve
• Protecting the Aeolian Islands habitats and species
• Restoring Solent Ecosystem Health through reintroduction of oyster beds
• Clearing up plastic in the Mediterranean through Beyond Plastic Med
