READ is an almost entirely student-volunteer-led initiative comprising of regional university based READ Book Projects which collect, sort and ship disused educational resources from the UK to Tanzania (350,000 books to date). READ student volunteers also give school presentations in the UK to promote student volunteering, young social enterprise and global citizenship.

My story

Hello Guys,

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and hopefully you will sponsor me!

My target is £600, but I would love to make a little more than this. I am raising money for a charity called READ International http://www.readinternational.org.uk/ which aims to provide textbooks and reading material to children in Africa. So far they have delievered over 300,000 books to school throughout Tanzania!

This is crucial to the Africa as giving aid of throwing money at the problem does not, as Afrcia is the only contient that has gotten POORER over the LAST 30 YEARS this has been due to many different issues, but we are all aware that education is a key to Africa`s development.
