Cheryl's Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Y 3 · 1 July 2016
As most of you are aware Cheryl's son, Mike Lewis, sadly passed away on the 25th November 2015 we believe due to DIB syndrome associated to type 1 Diabetes he was only 20.
Michael had lived with diabetes since the age of 4 but never allowed his condition to prevent him achieving his goals.
The Michael Lewis Foundation has been set up to raise awareness of DIB and hopefully find a cure. Cheryl and husband Tim want to try and prevent other parents suffering the heart break they are going through.
On the 1st July 2016 ( in the very early hours ) Cheryl's fellow directors Matt Moore ( in spirit, due to injury), Joe Griffin and I along with friend Rob Key are going to drag her kicking and screaming up three of Yorkshires highest mountains.
So what is the challenge ?
A 24.5 mile walk taking in the ascents and descents of Pen y Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m) and all in under 12 hours !!!
Cheryl's training regime started as early as 27th December, with a walk around the Arboretum and Park Lime pits. Miles along the local canal network followed. Numerous treks up and down the Long Mynd and the Malverns ( with Josie Hooper) are now starting to pay dividends and on 13th March she completed a 7 mile walk on the Roaches. But we haven't finished with her yet. A trip to Scotland to conquer the UK's highest mountain Ben Nevis is planned for the 30th May as is a trip to climb Cadair Idris in Snowdonia on 12th June.
Cheryl is determined to complete this challenge for Mike and I would urge you to give her some support and sponsor her on a challenge that will not only see her out of her comfort zone, but will represent a tremendous personal and emotional achievement.
Thanks in anticipation
Cheryl and her team of sherpas.
